Pelia is a cheerful little girl in Middle Class with a round face and a dimpled smile.

Her life has been marked by resilience and determination.

Her mother works tirelessly as a cleaner at the local hospital, earning a modest income of approximately 200,000 UGX (about $50 USD) per month.

Despite her hard work, the family struggles to make ends meet, living on less than $2 a day.

Pelia’s father, who once worked as a nurse at the same hospital, moved away for another job and now visits only twice a year offering little support.

This has left Pelia and her mother to navigate daily challenges on their own, often searching for food and clothing with limited resources and little money.

Educate Bwindi, has taken her in, free of charge, as we are dedicated to supporting children like Pelia, who face significant hardships.  Sponsorships are vital in providing children such as Pelia, that have little hope – with the education and opportunities they need to succeed and hope for a better future.  With excellent nutrition, stability and an educational environment, there is a chance for Pelia to have a future.
